GL.iNet Flint 4 (BE14000) preview
The Flint 4 is the successor to the Flint 3 and sits at the top of the GL.iNet home router line. Compared to the Flint 3, it adds a 10G SFP+ port, an additional 10GbE port, a touchscreen, and higher WireGuard throughput.
Who is this for? Home users and SOHO setups who want the fastest GL.iNet home router: Wi-Fi 7 tri-band, multiple 10G ports, and WireGuard above 1 Gbps. The Flint 3 remains the direct choice while the Flint 4 is not yet available.

What is new compared to the Flint 3?

|---|---|---|
| Wi-Fi | Wi-Fi 7 BE9300 | Wi-Fi 7 BE14000 |
| Maximum Wi-Fi | ~9,300 Mbps combined | ~13,600 Mbps combined |
| 10G ports | None | 1x SFP+ WAN/LAN + 1x 10GbE WAN/LAN |
| 2.5G ports | 5x | 3x LAN + 1x WAN/LAN |
| GbE ports | None | 4x |
| WireGuard | ~680 Mbps | ~1,500 Mbps |

The two biggest upgrades are the 10G ports and the WireGuard throughput. For home users with an internet connection below 1 Gbps, the Flint 4 adds little over the Flint 3. For SOHO setups with a 10G network or multiple simultaneous VPN connections, it is a different picture.

Expected built-in features
Based on the full GL.iNet product line, these features are expected:
- WireGuard and OpenVPN client and server
- DNS-over-TLS and DNS-over-HTTPS
- AdGuard Home
- VPN policy per device and per domain
- Guest network with client isolation
- Kill switch
- Multi-WAN failover
Caveats
Not yet available in the EU. FCC certification has not been granted; the initial release may exclude the US and EU. Check current availability at the GL.iNet store or authorised resellers.
Value depends on the EU price. $999 USD is a high entry point. If the EU price lands in the same range, the Flint 4 only makes sense for those who will actually use the 10G ports or the higher VPN throughput.
Processor and RAM are unconfirmed. The ~1,500 Mbps WireGuard figure is an announced value that can only be validated with a real-world test.
